Is Urgent Care Clinic legit?

Yes. UrgentClinic is an Australian telehealth service with consultations and medical certificates and doctors notes are issued by Australian-registered doctors and Nurse Practitioners.

How does it work?
 
Our telehealth service makes it easy to access online medical consultations, medical certificates, doctors note prescriptions, and telehealth.
Start by selecting the service you need and completing a secure digital consultation with clinically guided questions. An Australian-registered doctor will review your request, usually within 30 miutes.
If approved following consultation:

• Your online medical certificate or doctors note will be emailed to you and available in your patient portal

• Your electronic prescription (eScript) will be sent to your mobile as a secure token

Are Urgent Care consultations covered by Medicare?

No. UrgentClinic is a private telehealth provider, and consultations are not Medicare-rebated. Fees are shown upfront.

Does Urgent Clinic operates in every Australian state and territory?

Yes. Urgent Clinic is available nationwide — NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, ACT and NT.

Is my information safe with UrgentClinic?

Yes. Urgent Care Clinic uses secure systems and processes designed to protect your personal and medical information in line with Australian privacy requirements.

Is UrgentClinic affiliated with any Australian government body?

No. UrgentClinic operates as an independent, private telehealth provider and is not affiliated with any Australian government department or agency. All consultations are conducted by AHPRA-registered doctors and nurse practitioners who practise in accordance with Australian professional and clinical standards. When clinically appropriate, patients may be referred to public urgent care clinics, hospitals, or government-run health services, but UrgentClinic itself is not a government-operated service.

Do I need a Medicare Card?

For scripts yes for an online medical certificate also called a doctor's note or a carer's certificate a medicare card is not required

Do you backdate online medical certificates?

No, we do not backdate online medical certificates also called doctor's note or sick note.

What types of online medical certificates do you offer?
We offer three options: 1-Day Medical Certificate; Two-Day Medical Certificate; Three or more days Medical or Carer Certificate.

Are Urgent Care Doctors and Nurse Practitioners registered in Australia?
Yes, Urgent Care Partner Doctors and nurse Practitioners are registered in Australia and have provider numbers

Are MIDOC online medical certificates compliant with Australian Medical Association?

Yes. online medical certificates also called a doctors note are issued in line with standards.

How long does it take for the doctor to call?

A doctor or Nurse Practitioner from UrgentClinic will usually contact you within one hour after you complete your consultation. During peak periods, response times may be longer.
Please ensure your phone is switched on and that you are available to answer incoming calls, as missed calls may delay the consultation process.

What happens if the doctor or nurse practitioner cannot assist me?

We provide a refund

How long does it take to get an online medical certificate or online carer certificate?

Receive your online medical certificate (also known as a doctor's note or doctor's certificate online) or carers certificate via email usually within 30 minutes after doctor's or nurse practitioner review. 

Will my employer, university, school, or childcare accept my online medical or carer’s certificate?

Online medical certificates, carer’s certificates, and doctor’s notes issued by UrgentClinic are accepted by employers, universities, schools, and childcare providers across Australia.
All medical certificates are reviewed and issued by AHPRA-registered Australian doctors and or Nurse Practitioners following a telehealth consultation. Approval is based on clinical appropriateness and is not guaranteed.
Employers or institutions may verify the authenticity of a certificate if required. UrgentClinic provides certificates for both adults and patients under 18, where clinically appropriate.
