We at Rothschilds Health Pty Ltd honour your right to privacy and are keenly aware of the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act). The Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) within this Act govern the gathering, usage, disclosure, quality, and safeguarding of personal data, and we diligently abide by them. We also respect the health privacy principles under State and Territory legislation.

Our enterprise, which includes the URGENTClinic platform (Platform), as well as our websites and app (Websites), ensures secure access to digital health services. These include online medical certificates, telehealth and video consultations with registered medical professionals (Partner Doctors) and other registered health providers such as pharmacists, pathology providers, and nurses (Partner Providers); and when clinically suitable, the opportunity to request an online prescription, a referral for a pathology test, or a referral to a specialist doctor, following a telehealth or video consultation.

We appreciate your concerns regarding your privacy and recognise that the safeguarding of your personal data is of paramount importance to you. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the steps we take to protect it.

Personal data refers to any information or opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether true or not, and whether recorded in material form or not. Certain provisions apply to sensitive personal data, including health information and information relating to race, ethnic origin, political opinions, professional or trade association memberships, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual preferences, and criminal history.

In this privacy policy, all references to personal information include sensitive information unless stated otherwise.

  • Health information, including past, present, or future health data provided by you, Partner Doctors, or Partner Providers

  • Other sensitive information, such as gender or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status

  • Government identifiers, including Medicare numbers and Individual Healthcare Identifiers (IHI)

We may also collect de-identified data via cookies, including browser type, operating system, and browsing behaviour. This data does not identify you personally.

We may collect information about:

  • Patients

  • Next of kin or carers (Representatives)

  • Partner Doctors and Partner Providers

  • Job applicants, employees, and contractors

  • Third parties providing services to URGENTClinic

Personal data may also be collected from third-party platforms such as Google, Facebook, or Apple if you choose to log in using those services.

3. USE AND DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We collect, retain, use, and disclose personal data for purposes including:

  • Providing healthcare services

  • Operating and improving the Platform and Websites

  • Communication and record-keeping

  • Legal and regulatory compliance

  • Assisting government or law enforcement agencies where required

By providing your contact details, you consent to us contacting you for these purposes.

If you do not provide requested information, we may be unable to provide certain services.

We may de-identify and retain personal data (excluding eScript data) for analytics, service improvement, and quality assurance.

Certificate Delivery

URGENTClinic delivers medical certificates via secure, unique download links. These links are not publicly searchable or indexed, but may remain accessible to users who retain the original message or browser history.

We recommend downloading and securely storing your certificate.
If you require your certificate to be deleted from our servers after delivery, please contact support@urgentclinic.com.au, and we will arrange prompt deletion.

4. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

To operate our business and provide services, we may disclose personal information to:

  • Related entities under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)

  • IT, data storage, payment processing, and support service providers

  • Partner Doctors and Partner Providers delivering services to you

We do not disclose personal information to unrelated healthcare providers without your express consent.

Limited personal data may be disclosed to financial auditors, with information anonymised wherever possible.

Partner Doctors and Partner Providers are required to take reasonable steps to protect personal information in line with professional and legal obligations.

In the event of a sale, merger, or change of control, personal data may be transferred to the new owner without prior notice or consent.

De-identified data may be shared for service review or clinical research purposes.

5. STORAGE AND SECURITY

We use reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to protect personal data. Data is protected using Transport Layer Security (TLS).

Personal information is stored on servers located in Australia. By using the Platform, you consent to this storage arrangement.

6. COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use cookies to understand how users interact with our Websites. Cookies do not collect personally identifiable information and are used solely for internal management and performance optimisation.

7. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

Unless you opt out, you consent to receiving marketing and promotional communications from us. You may unsubscribe at any time using the provided opt-out options.

8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

You have the right to:
